What’s Really Inside Your Vape? Common Ingredients in Vapes

In Canada, vaping is now a popular substitute for smoking. This is true, especially among young adults. Shiny gadgets and flavoursome types give a clear insight into why consumers choose them.

However, do you know what happens to your lungs every time you take a drag of this substance? Well, let’s find out what is inside vapes.

    What Makes Up E-Liquid?

E-liquids, or vape juices, are fairly simple in composition. They often contain several essential components.

The two main types are propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). These serve as the base and are solely accountable for creating the vapour. PG is common in food and cosmetics. It is safe to swallow but may cause throat irritation if inhaled. In addition, it provides a larger throat hit

On the other hand, VG is derived from plants. However, at a high concentration, it may cause dryness in the mouth. It may also increase the desire to drink fluids. Moreover, VG provides a smoother draw and more vapour production.

The best liquid also contains additional ingredients known as flavourings. These flavourings make the vaping process more enjoyable. It may come in mint or fruity flavours or taste like a dessert.

Some are food-grade, but not all of them have been tested for inhalation. Therefore, buying vapes online is easy and convenient. However, it’s critical to examine where they come from and what they contain.

    Other Common Ingredients

Here are some of the most common ingredients you will find in vapes:

    • Nicotine: An addictive substance that impacts heart rate and blood pressure. Still, some vapes, labelled as being free from nicotine, may contain very low amounts of nicotine.
    • Flavourings: These ingredients include diacetyl. They are related to ‘popcorn lung disease’ but is not as widely used as it once was.

    Are There Safer Options?

There are measures you can take to minimize health risks. First, choose products with their ingredients listed clearly. This will help ensure you use products from reputable brands.

Second, do not use homemade products. Such products may contain potentially dangerous substances.

Last but not least, gradually lower your nicotine level over time. Some people in Canada use vaping as a step toward finally kicking tobacco. If that is the case, ensure you consult a healthcare provider for advice.

In conclusion, vapes are less toxic than normal cigarettes. However, it is still important to know what goes into your vaporizer. Having this information will help you when making decisions regarding your health.

Vaporizers don’t just include propylene glycol. They also include vegetable glycerin and nicotine. Experts believe these compounds to be harmless when ingested.

But if they are heated up and inhaled, they pose certain risks. So, don’t just read the labels. Follow up on your favourite brands, too.

Your health deserves extra attention, so be careful with online purchases. Whether you are vaping to quit smoking or just for the flavours, knowing what you are inhaling is the first step to safe vaping.
