    Stomach ulcer, which is also known with the name gastric ulcers, are some open wounds that are seen inside stomach lining. It is also a type of peptic ulcer, which means that it is caused due to excess acid in the body. Due to the presence of acidic substance inside the stomach, ulcers become extremely painful. There are medications for this disease, but those consist of side effects. However, home remedies and natural foods that are available in kitchen can heal ulcer naturally and soothe the pain of stomach ulcer.  They also help in healing the lining of the stomach without having side effects.

    Here’s a list of natural foods that can be effective in treating stomach ulcers:

    • Ginseng

    Ginseng is a medicinal herb  with fleshy roots. The herb mainly flourishes in Northern China and Korea. It is a multipurpose herb, which has anti-microbial attributes. It has been adopted in many countries because of its medicinal effect. With respect to health drinks, ginseng tea is considered as the latest trend. Ginseng tea is good as it is useful to let the ginseng to enter into the blood stream quicker at the time it is being absorbed by the lining of the stomach.  Ginseng is used for treating ulcers since ages.

    Panax Ginseng has a proven impact for treating gastric cells infection. It is tremendous in curing stomach ulcers. This herb, by nature, is anti-microbial and antibacterial. Due to these features of this herb it destroys the Helicobacter Pylori bacteria that mainly cause stomach ulcers.

    Ginseng is also good for energizing the digestive system. It also helps in healing the lining of the stomach which will destroy the infectious bacteria that cause stomach ulcer. The anti-inflammatory properties of ginseng reduce swelling and provide relief from pain. As ginseng is an antioxidant and adaptogen, it purifies the blood eliminating toxicity and hence gives you relief from stomach infection and other problems like bloating, gas formation etc.

    • Yogurt

    Yogurt, when included in regular food, can help to fight against stomach ulcer. Yogurt contains huge amount of probiotics. They are live bacteria that can fight against Helicobacter Pylori bacteria, which are the main cause of stomach ulcers.

    Also, these probiotics also help in minimizing the side effects of consuming antibiotics. As antibiotics are considered as powerful medicines for treating stomach ulcers, yogurt can be considered as a powerful food for people who are facing problem with stomach ulcers.

    • Aloe vera

    Aloe vera is a tender herbaceous plant which is used to soothe stomach and help in digestion. It is one of the common and effective herbs that are used to relieve gastric problem and  heal gastrointestinal system. The juice of the aloe vera plant can be used in a reasonable amount for relief from stomach ulcers.

    Aloe vera has extraordinary healing features and it is antifungal, antibacterial, and antimicrobial and provides a soothing tonic for the stomach. The juice that is derived from the leaves of this plant gives relief from stomach ulcers.

    • Olive oil

    Olive oil is one of the finest home remedies that can be used to get relief from stomach ulcer. It is suggested to consuming one tea spoon of olive oil, three times a day to get some relief from pain caused due to stomach ulcer.

    Olive oil is rich in Vitamin E and it is considered as a powerful antioxidant that protects the stomach. It also contains gastritis that strengthens the lining of the stomach. It gives the immune system a boost and helps in destroying bacteria in the stomach that is unhealthy.

    • Cranberries

    Cranberries, a native of North America was well known as a remedy for urinary tract infections, but now it is a best cure against Helicobacter Pylori bacteria that causes stomach ulcer. Researchers from Israel in their research article reported in ‘The Inside Tract®, issue 122, November/December 2000’ have demonstrated that the bacterial anti-adhesion mechanism in Cranberry fight against stomach ulcer.

    Cranberries are seen rich in flavonoids, nutrients that can be used to reduce the growth of Helicobacter Pylori bacteria that is responsible for stomach ulcer.

    • Blueberries

    Blueberries are rich in antioxidants and it is a perfect food to fight against stomach ulcer. Though blueberries are not very filling when consumed, they are considered as a healthy snack. It can be added to the morning cereal to treat stomach ulcer.

    As it contains antioxidants, it is useful for strengthening the immune system and helps the body to fight against many viruses and diseases. It also reduces symptoms of ulcers and speed up the healing.

    • Almonds

    Since long time, almonds are measured to be very healthy for mind as well as body. Almonds are considered to be rich in B-Vitamins, calcium, protein, nutrients that will help to reduce stomach ulcer.

    The nutrients present in it have many beneficial uses. The alkaline that is present in it is of excessive use for treating stomach ulcers. Daily use of almonds will reduce the acidic activity in the stomach. It will also give the essential nutrients that are used to cure stomach ulcers.

    Conclusion

    Most stomach ulcers are caused by Helicobacter Pylori bacteria. They are considered to be treated completely. But if the stomach ulcers remain unattended, it can lead to some severe problems like internal bleeding and stomach cancer. If a person is suspected to have stomach ulcer, it should not be ignored. Having the right amount of food helps to reduce stomach ulcer and seeking expert advice can help in fighting stomach ulcer in an easy way.
