CBD has become increasingly popular, and with that, most parents are concerned about the safety of the CBD for their children. This has ignited a debate on using CBD gummies or some other medicine for children due to chronic pain, anxiety, and seizures. Some claim their children are better off with this, while others fear the unknown. CBD is a supplement that has several benefits, although there is sparse clinical data regarding use in children. There is significant research regarding Cannabidiol in children with treat-resistant epilepsies, such as Dravet Syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. The FDA approved Epidiolex as a oil-derived CBD medication to treat severe epilepsy.

    Recommendations from FDA

Though the FDA has approved CBD only as an Epidiolex for treating children, it still calls upon greater improved CBD product safety studies. It suggests more sophisticated research on the effectiveness and safety of CBD products. Since Cannabidiol products are not regulated as prescription drugs, their quality, concentration, and safety can be quite diverse. be cautious of over-the-counter CBD products that promise miracles but do not have scientific credibility. Before incorporating any Cannabidiol product into the health care of the child, visit a doctor who can modify the recommendations based on individual health needs.

    What Quality Sources Matter

The CBD gummies for kids abound, so parents must find quality sources when buying it for the children. Third-party testing, transparent labeling, and correct ingredient lists establish the trust of the product. Parents will want to seek companies that have research showing their products are THC and contaminant-free. Brands that have strong ties to reputable research institutions or the medical community may offer peace of mind. A little due diligence in reading reviews from other parents and discussing the issue with pediatric health specialists will also help the selections parents make to be smart decisions rather than emotional choices based upon marketing.
