3 Most Popular Plastic Surgery Procedures

Plastic surgery can be used for both reconstructive or cosmetic purposes. Cosmetic plastic surgery is generally used to alter a person’s physical appearance. These surgeries can give people the appearance they’ve always desired and help boost their self confidence. Here are three of the most popular cosmetic plastic surgery procedures.

    Liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure in which excess fat is removed from the body. Patients can go to a plastic surgery North Carolina clinic to discuss where they would like to have fat removed and what type of liposuction is best for them. The surgery is very short and typically done as an outpatient procedure with only a few days of recovery time needed before the patient can resume normal activity.

    Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is used to enlarge a person’s breasts. A person may choose to have this procedure if they wish to enlarge their breasts, if their breasts are underdeveloped or asymmetrical, if one or both breasts had to be removed or if the person is undergoing gender transformation. After the doctor surgically inserts the implants, patients can typically resume normal activity after only a couple of weeks.

    Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasties, more commonly known as nose jobs, are done to reshape or alter the size of a person’s nose. Sometimes, a person can have a condition, such as a deviated septum, that makes it harder for them to breathe. A rhinoplasty may then be used to restructure the nose and improve breathing. Patients’ normal activities are not usually impacted by this procedure, but there is often bruising for several days.

Liposuction, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty and other cosmetic procedures can help improve people’s self confidence by changing their appearance. They can even be used to improve bodily functions, such as breathing. Many cosmetic procedures are considered routine, low risk surgeries that require very little recovery time.
