5 Simple Home Remedies to Deal with Potential Side Effects of Botox Injection

Who said that beauty has no price other than what you pay for in a product or a treatment procedure? It takes more than spending money to become beautiful. Sometimes, you have to take a chance with cosmetic treatments even when you know that they are prone to serious side effects. One of them happens to be Botox.

The anti-wrinkling injection is not free from side effects. Some of the most common side effects of Botox injection include bruising, swelling, pain, and fever. Though these side effects do not affect everyone, it’s important to prepare for them. So many people go for prescriptions but they also come with side effects. The perfect solution is to use natural ways. To get you started, here are 5 home remedies to consider:

    1. Essential Oils

Essential oils are powerful natural remedies which address a wide range of Botox injection side effects. You only need to apply the oil to the affected area and massage it gently. Over time, you’ll experience relief. Your top considerations should be:

    • Lavender oil: This provides fast anti-inflammation action.
    • Cypress oil: Has antimicrobial properties and promotes fast healing.
    • Eucalyptus oil: Reduces pain, body swelling, and bruising.
    • Rosemary oil: Speeds up healing and reduces bruising.
    • Peppermint oil: Has pain relieving and anti-inflammation characteristics.
    1. Ice Packs

Immediately after Botox injection, you are likely to suffer from bruising and swelling. Such signs are best managed by ice packs. Ice packs also alleviate pain which is common with inflammations. You’ll need to apply ice directly on the uncomfortable part (for at least 10 minutes) to bring down the swelling and to manage the pain and bruising.

    1. Rest Face-Up

The reason why some people develop dropping or crooked eyelids is that they allow the Botox toxin to move to undesirable areas. In most cases, this is because of sleeping the wrong way. It’s advisable to avoid sleeping on the treated side. So, always strive to face up (on your back) when resting. This will give the injection enough time to settle. Though it’s an uncomfortable experience, you only do it for one night.

    1. Vitamin K Ointment

Though you can get vitamin K from the food that you eat, you can also introduce it topically by applying an ointment. It’s necessary for reducing bruising and promoting fast healing. You can get the ointment from your local shop. You’ll need to apply and gently massage it on the affected part as per the instructions on its packaging.

    1. Arnica Gel

Arnica is a powerful herb that you can use to reduce inflammations and bruises following Botox injection. Though it’s quite popular in tablet form, you can also find it in topical forms. The gel is easily absorbed into your skin and will act fast. You can also use it to relieve pain as it contains analgesic properties.

Clearly, it doesn’t take much to deal with the potential side effects of Botox injection. The approaches highlighted above are not costly and are quite effective. Besides, they are free from side effects.
